Commander Patricio Rojas Jr. has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement. Prior to joining the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Commander Rojas served as a security police officer in the United States Air Force. He attained the rank of Sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge.

Since joining the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in 1993, Commander Rojas has progressed through the ranks from Deputy Sheriff to Captain. The Commander has shared his knowledge and expertise by serving as a Field Training Officer, Firearms Instructor & Armorer, General Topics Instructor, DARE Instructor, Platoon Lieutenant, Commander of Internal Affairs, and Captain of MCSO Zone C, which encompasses the west side of Monroe County.

In May of 2024, he was appointed by Sheriff Baxter to Commander of the Staff Services Bureau. In this position, he oversees multiple units including Training, Background Investigations, Recruitment, Accreditation, Records, Fleet, Property Office, and Quartermaster.

Commander Rojas has been married to his wife, Kristan, for 35 years and they have two children, Katrina and Joshua. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, running, traveling/day trips and spending time with his family.
