KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

PUBLIC SAFETY AFFECTS ALL OF US;
HOW CAN OUR COMMUNITY MAKE IT BETTER?

Our goal is to educate the public.

CITY OF ROCHESTER
CRIME STATISTICS

Data provided by the Rochester Police Department.

New York State experienced six massive reforms to criminal justice beginning in 2018. One we are familiar with is bail reform, which was implemented in the last quarter of 2019 with an anticipated 2020 start date. The following charts illustrate data for the nine years preceding bail reform and the five years post bail reform. We acknowledge violent crime is down from record highs. However, violent crime is still significantly increased from pre-criminal justice reform numbers.
