Deputies Arrest Juvenile Following Stolen Vehicle from Greater Rochester International Airport

On October 12, 2026 at 12:50 a.m., a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle in the area of Buell Rd. near Chili Ave. in the town of Gates, recently reported stolen from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. The deputy called for additional deputies who responded and attempted a traffic stop.  The operator of the vehicle, a 13-year-old male juvenile, failed to stop and fled from deputies.

The driver then led deputies into the city of Rochester, eventually coming to rest on Lozier St. in the city. The juvenile, and four other suspects ran from the vehicle.  Deputies pursued the suspects on foot, and took the driver into custody.

MCSO and the Rochester Police Department conducted K-9 tracks to help locate the other four individuals, with negative results.

A male juvenile, 13 years old of Rochester is charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 3rd degree (Class-D Felony)

The teen was arraigned on the charge and remanded to the Monroe County Children’s Detention Center in Rush.

Thank you to the Rochester Police Department K9 Unit for its assistance. We’d also like to acknowledge the actions of the astute deputy who recognized the stolen vehicle.
