Repeat Offender Charged Following Larceny at Henrietta Sporting Goods Store

On September 27, 2026, at approximately 4:46 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to DICK’S Sporting Goods at 790 Jefferson Road in the Town of Henrietta for a report of a larceny in progress. Witnesses reported seeing two men steal multiple jackets and leave the area in a U-Haul truck bearing Arizona license plates.

Deputies quickly located the truck and conducted a traffic stop on East Henrietta Road. One passenger exited the vehicle and ran away. The driver was detained for investigation. The remaining occupant refused deputies’ lawful commands to exit the vehicle, leading to his removal and detainment.

Deputies identified the occupant who was removed from the truck as Leonard Henry. The investigation determined that Mr. Henry was one of the two men who stole the jackets, which were valued at $3,780. Deputies also determined that Mr. Henry had an active arrest warrant from Genesee County for grand larceny.

Leonard L. Henry, 51, of Rochester is charged with:

  • Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class D-Felony)
  • Resisting Arrest (Class A-Misdemeanor)
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor)

Mr. Henry was transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he awaits arraignment in CAP Court.

The driver is not facing criminal charges at this time. The passenger who fled on foot has not been located. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or email MCSOTips@MonroeCounty.gov and reference CR # 26-183544.
