Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies and other first responders recently responded to several false fire alarm calls in the Town of Henrietta. They occurred on the following dates and locations:
- February 14, 2025 at Walmart, located at 1200 Marketplace Dr.
- February 17, 2025 at Walmart, located at 1200 Marketplace Dr.
- February 18, 2025 at Marketplace Mall, located at 1 Miracle Mile Dr.
For two of the occurrences, on February 14th and February 18th, deputies identified a suspect, Mark Salatino. The individual was also suspected of a Burglary and Criminal Mischief that occurred on February 17, 2025 at Space Shop Self Storage, located at 1575 Marketplace Dr., Henrietta.
On February 19th, an aware and proactive MCSO deputy located Salatino walking in the area of Marketplace Mall and Best Buy at Marketplace Dr. She and two other deputies took Salatino into custody after he initially resisted.
Mark Salatino, 48, of Rochester is charged with the following:
- Falsely Reporting a Fire in a Public Building (Class D – Felony)
- Criminal Mischief 2nd (Class – D Felony)
- Burglary 3rd (Class D-Felony)
- Resisting Arrest (Class A – Misdemeanor)
- Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd (Class A-Misdemeanor)
Mr. Salatino was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail. Two of the incidents outlined above remain under investigation. More charges may be pending.
Great job by the initial deputy for knowing her coverage area and the individuals who reside there, and actively seeking a wanted individual. All three of the responding deputies are credited with successfully bringing Mr. Salatino into custody.
