Chili, NY (December 24, 2021) – On 12/23/21 at 10:18 PM, MCSO C Zone 1st Platoon deputies were dispatched to Metalico (1515 Scottsville Rd, Chili) for the burglar alarm. Once on scene, deputies discovered that someone had made entry into the building through the roof. A perimeter was established and K9 was requested to search the building. Deputies and K9 located a person hiding inside of the building. The suspect was identified as Andrew Mott, 33, Irondequoit.
It appears that the Mott climbed up onto the roof and made entrance through an air vent. Once inside, Mott cut a hole in the drywall to gain access to a room with a safe. Mott was located hiding behind the safe. Mott was charged with: Burglary 3rd (Class-D Felony), Criminal Mischief 2nd (Class-D Felony) and Possession of Burglar Tools (Class-A Misdemeanor). Mott was arraigned in Chili Town Court and remanded to MCJ on No Bail due to being a predicate felon. Excellent job by deputies, K9 and investigators!
