The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deputy involved shooting in the Town of Henrietta on Thursday evening.
On June 2, 2022 at approximately 7:40 p.m., MCSO deputies responded to the Carrabba’s Italian Grill at 3340 West Henrietta Road, for a male behind the bar with a gun. Two deputies entered the restaurant and made contact with the man. The deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation. Two more deputies entered the building through a separate door. The suspect pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at those deputies. The suspect shot at the deputies just missing a deputy’s head. Deputies shot at the suspect, who was not hit, and went to the ground and dropped the handgun. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Thankfully, the deputies, the restaurant patrons, and the suspect were uninjured.
The suspect is identified as Alonzo L. Jones, 33, of Rochester and charged with:
- Attempted Aggravated Assault Upon a Police Officer (C- Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree-2 Counts (C Felony)
The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
Mr. Jones was arraigned by Judge Cook in Henrietta Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on no bail.
