Chili, NY (1/22/2022) – On January 20, 2022 at 4:12 PM, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Chili Commons Apartments in the Town of Chili for the report of a stolen vehicle and assault. A foster care intake case worker was placing a juvenile into foster care at that location. The juvenile assaulted the caseworker, forcibly stole the keys to their vehicle, and fled the location in the vehicle. While fleeing the location, the juvenile struck the caseworker’s leg. The caseworker was transported to a local hospital for nonlife threatening injuries.
The MCSO Major Crimes Unit investigated the incident. On January 21, 2022 at about 1:45 PM, Rochester Police Department officers located the juvenile and the stolen vehicle on Fairbanks Street in the City of Rochester. The juvenile was taken into custody. Stolen property related to an incident that occurred in the Town of Greece on January 20, 2022 was located.
MCSO charged the juvenile with:
- Robbery 1st (Class- B Felony)
- Robbery 2nd (Class- C Felony)
- Assault 2nd (Class- D Felony)
- Grand Larceny 3rd (Class- D Felony)
- Criminal Mischief 3rd (Class- E Felony).

The juvenile was arraigned in family court and placed in a secure detention center on $15,000 cash bail /$120,000 bond. Due to no local vacancies, the juvenile was transported to a secure detention center in Syracuse, NY.
