Henrietta, NY (February 28, 2022) – On February 13, 2022, at approximately 3:45 AM, Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 7-11 store located at 2499 E. Henrietta Rd. in the Town of Henrietta, for the report of a gun point robbery. The suspect approached the counter, pointed a handgun at the clerk, and demanded money from the cash register. After the clerk surrendered the money, the perpetrator fled the store in a maroon four-door sedan. The descriptions of the male and vehicle were consistent with a pattern of convenience store robberies across Monroe County. A “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) broadcast was sent out county-wide to all law enforcement agencies.
Greece Police spotted the suspect vehicle on Ridgeway Ave near I-390. They later took the suspect into custody in the area of Rt. 104 and St. Paul Blvd.
MCSO arrested Randolph Chavis, 19, Rochester, and charged him with the following:
- Robbery in the 2nd degree (Class C-Felony)
- Grand Larceny in the 4th degree (Class E-Felony)
Mr. Chavis was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail, in lieu of $15,000 cash bail/ $25,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
“This is another great example of Monroe County law enforcement agencies working collaboratively to combat crime,” said Sheriff Todd Baxter. “I commend the officers and deputies for their ability to work seamlessly to achieve accountability for the suspect, and increased safety for the community.”
