Rochester, NY (September 23, 2022) An incarcerated individual remains behind bars today thanks to the valiant efforts of Monroe County Jail deputies. The individual attempted to escape from the Hall of Justice on Friday September 16, 2022. At about 10:45 in the morning, deputies assigned to the MCSO Prisoner Transport Unit were escorting David Crutcher, 24, of Rochester from the Monroe County Jail to a court appearance. Crutcher charged at a deputy and used his shoulder to strike him in the chest. Crutcher then attempted to run off and deputies apprehended him. There were no injuries to deputies or Mr. Crutcher.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit investigators charged David Crutcher with:
- Attempted Escape in the Third Degree (Class B-Misdemeanor)
Mr. Crutcher was arraigned in Rochester City Court and returned to the Monroe County Jail.
