Rochester, NY (September 27, 2022) A man was arrested today after he entered the security checkpoint at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport with a firearm. At about 4:15 this morning, Alfonso Davis, 56, of Syracuse, entered the security checkpoint and set the metal detector alarm off. Security observed the man was wearing a medical sling on his arm. Further inspection of the sling revealed a loaded 9mm pistol hidden inside. Davis was detained without incident. Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies, along with our federal partners, investigated the incident.
Alfonso Davis, 56, of Syracuse is charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (D- Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm in a Sensitive Location (E- Felony)
Mr. Davis was transported to the Monroe County Jail pending arraignment in Rochester City Court.
