Penfield, NY (September 1, 2022) Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Willis L. Jones of Rochester for robbery at Home Depot in the Town of Penfield.
On August 30, 2022 at approximately 5:30 p.m., MCSO deputies responded to 750 Panorama Trail, for a robbery. Asset Protection employees state that a man, about 60 years old, wearing a baseball hat, dark colored jean jacket and dark pants, tried to leave the store without paying for merchandise. Asset Protection identified themselves to the man. He punched the employee in the face and shoved them to the ground. The man left the store with a cart of stolen merchandise. Deputies set up a perimeter, conducted a K9 search and canvassed nearby businesses for information.
Through excellent police work, Deputy Smegelesky and Asset Protection were able to identify the man. On August 31, 2022 at approximately 5:00 p.m., Deputy Smegelesky arrested Mr. Willis.
Mr. Jones is charged with:
- Robbery in the 3rd Degree (D - Felony)
- Burglary in the 3rd Degree (D - Felony)
- Petit Larceny (A – Misdemeanor)
Mr. Jones was arraigned in Penfield Town Court. Due to being a predicate felon, he was remanded to the Monroe County Jail with no bail.
