Just before 9:00 on the morning of December 23, 2023, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Walmart on Marketplace Drive in the Town of Henrietta for a robbery. Prior to arrival, deputies were told three suspects passed all points of sale with a cart full of merchandise without paying. When confronted by loss prevention, one suspect threatened to shoot the employee and another struck the employee with the shopping cart. No gun was shown. Witnesses described the suspects as a man wearing a red jacket, a man wearing an “L.A. Lakers” coat, and a woman wearing a white coat, who got into a gray SUV and left the area. Deputies searched the surrounding area and highways for the suspect vehicle. At about 9:06 a.m., Deputy Parks located a gray 2008 Saturn Vue on I-590 near Winton Road that was occupied by three individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions. He stopped the vehicle, identified the occupants, and observed the stolen merchandise in the car. Deputies detained the suspects and returned more than $2,300 worth of stolen merchandise to Walmart.
Tyreic R. Johnson, 26, of Rochester is charged with:
- Robbery in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
- Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
Chauncey O. Jones, 25, of Rochester is charged with:
- Robbery in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
- Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
Shirley M. Thomas, 24, of Rochester is charged with:
- Robbery in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
- Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
Tyreic Johnson and Chauncey Jones were arraigned in Henrietta Town Court, where they were Released on their Own Recognizance per New York State Law. Shirley Thomas was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $500 cash, $1,000 bond, or $2,500 partially secured bond.
