Sweden, NY (February 10, 2023) A man and woman were arrested using a stolen car to steal merchandise from the Speedway Gas station in the Town of Sweden, on Wednesday evening.
On February 8, 2023 at about 10:20 in the evening, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 995 Transit Way for a man and woman leaving the business without paying for merchandise. A good description of the suspects and the vehicle they were in was broadcast to deputies, including the license plate number. The car was reported stolen one day prior, on February 7th . A deputy saw the car heading eastbound on State Route 531 and attempted to stop them. The suspects refused to pull over and continued into the City of Rochester. The vehicle was found in the area of Bay Street and the suspects attempted to run away from police. Anthony S. Barron Jr., 41, of Rochester and Lindsey A. Topor, 37, of Rochester were taken into custody and transported back to the Speedway for identification.
Mr. Barron is charged with:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
- Petit Larceny (Class A-Misdemeanor)
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree (Felony)
Ms. Topor is charged with:
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
- Petit Larceny (Class A-Misdemeanor)
Anthony Barron Jr. was arraigned in Sweden Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on no bail and no release due to his predicate felon status. Lindsey Topor was released on an appearance ticket.
