On April 11, 2024, at 2:30 a.m., Monroe County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Birchwood Drive neighborhood in the Town of Wheatland to investigate suspicious behavior. A resident witnessed, via their security camera, a man attempting to open the doors of the vehicles parked in their driveway and another man walking in the street. The resident informed the deputies that one person continued walking from one driveway to another, while the other individual entered a vehicle and proceeded to follow. Deputies found a man walking on Terra Vista, and while they were questioning him, they noticed a vehicle nearby and pulled it over. Inside the vehicle was a generator and a weed trimmer. While conducting a neighborhood canvass, deputies located the owner of the generator and weed trimmer, both of which had been stolen from their garage. The suspects were detained and brought back to our B Zone substation for investigation.
