On June 13, 2025, at 11:00 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Balsam Lane in the Town of Perinton for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the male victim was stabbed in the torso. Fortunately, the victim was transported to a local hospital with what would be deemed non-life-threatening injuries.
Through exhaustive investigative work and diligent tracing of leads, our Major Crimes Unit developed information regarding the suspect's whereabouts. On June 25, 2025, members of the MCSO Criminal Investigation Section and Tactical Unit located two males in the area of Wolfert Terrace in the City of Rochester. They apprehended the seventeen-year-old in connection with the June thirteenth stabbing. During the arrest, the second male reached into his waistband and ran from the area before dropping a handgun. Following a pursuit on foot, the second male was apprehended, and the weapon was recovered. The .45 caliber Taurus handgun was reported stolen in Atlanta, Georgia.
The 17-year-old Juvenile accused of the Perinton stabbing is charged with:
- Assault in the Second Degree (Class D–Felony)
He was arraigned in Monroe County Youth Part Court and remanded to the Monroe County Children’s Detention Center on $1,500 cash, or $15,000 bond.
The 17-year-old Juvenile accused in possession of the handgun is charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
- Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)
He has a prior arrest for criminal possession of a weapon, was arraigned in Monroe County Youth Part Court and remanded to the Monroe County Children’s Detention Center on $500 cash, or $10,000 bond.
