On March 24, 2025, at approximately 5:28 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Lehigh Station Road in the Town of Henrietta for an unknown cause. The 911 call received from a female included an address, the mention of a gun, and yelling in the background before the line disconnected. When deputies arrived at the house, the occupants were uncooperative. The 17-year-old victim who made the 911 call exited the home and approached deputies. The investigation revealed the victim was visiting Douglas Mealing and, following a verbal argument, she left the house. While she walked away, Mealing confronted her and forcibly took her phone. She followed him back inside the house. The argument continued, during which Mealing allegedly made a threat involving a handgun.

Given the reported presence of a handgun and the gravity of the alleged offense, deputies exercised caution, successfully persuading the occupants to leave the residence without further incident at about 8:50 p.m.

Douglas A. Mealing Jr., 20, of Henrietta is charged with:

  • Robbery in the First Degree (Class B-Felony)
  • Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (Class E-Felony)

Mealing was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $1,000 cash, or $2,000 bond.
