On December 21, 2025, at 6:40 a.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a Pittsford home for the report of a 2023 Toyota Highlander that was stolen from a driveway. The owners of the vehicle stated they accidentally left it unlocked with the key fob inside, along with a wallet containing a credit card.

At 7:29 a.m., deputies were called to a second Pittsford home for the report of a wallet and four credit cards that were stolen from their unlocked vehicle, and there were already two unauthorized charges to the cards. The homeowner at this location provided video footage showing four suspects entering the unlocked vehicle at 12:38 a.m. on December 21, 2025.

The homes were on adjacent streets, and both incidents initially appeared to be related.

Deputies continued their investigation and contacted the vehicle manufacturer, who agreed to share the location of the vehicle because it is reported stolen.

At 10:15 a.m., the vehicle manufacturer informed deputies the stolen Toyota was parked in the 4100 block of W. Ridge Road in the town of Greece.

With the assistance of the Greece Police Department, the stolen Toyota was located parked in a business lot with three juveniles sleeping inside. Police also located the stolen credit cards from both Pittsford homes.

All three juveniles were transported to MCSO A-Zone and processed.

All three juveniles were transported to Monroe County CAP court for arraignment and released to the custody of a parent, and are to return to Monroe County Family Court – Youth Part at a later date.

We would like to recognize the resourcefulness of our deputies in contacting the vehicle manufacturer for information to develop an investigative lead. Deputies remained persistent and acted on the information immediately after it was developed, leading to the arrest of the three juveniles without incident. MCSO would also like to extend our appreciation to the Greece Police Department for their assistance and response in locating the vehicle and detaining the juveniles before they had the opportunity to leave the area with the stolen vehicle.

We would ask our community to please make sure you remove valuables, keys and key fobs from vehicles and lock them when parked.
