On December 10, 2025, at 12:55 pm, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies received calls for a male and female fighting in a parking lot at 660 Jefferson Road in Henrietta.

Deputies arrived to find a male on top of the female, pinning her to the ground. Deputies would learn the male and female were in a relationship and the physical fight resulted from an earlier argument.

As deputies approached to separate both parties and prevent further injury, Dakota Nesbitt-Johnson ignored the deputies’ commands and returned to the vehicle he was driving. Nesbitt-Johnson locked the doors to the vehicle as deputies continued to order him to exit the vehicle. Nesbitt-Johnson refused, started the vehicle and attempted to back up to leave. A deputy, located behind the vehicle to approach on the passenger side, was nearly struck as Nesbitt-Johnson attempted to drive in reverse. Nesbitt-Johnson eventually exited the vehicle and began to fight with a deputy who was at the driver’s door.

Deputies were able to take Nesbitt-Johnson into custody and as a result of his actions, one deputy suffered a lower leg injury that required transport to a local hospital for treatment.

Nesbitt-Johnson’s actions also resulted in minor damage of an unoccupied vehicle that was parked next to his vehicle, which was struck as he attempted to drive in reverse.

The female suffered apparent minor injuries from the attack and declined transport to the hospital.

Dakota Nesbitt-Johnson, 19, of Rochester, is charged with:

  • Assault in the Third Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor) in connection with the female’s injuries
  • Assault in the Second Degree (Class D-Felony) in connection with the deputy’s injury
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor)
  • Resisting Arrest (Class A-Misdemeanor)
  • Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor)

Following the arrest, Nesbitt-Johnson was transported to Monroe County CAP court, arraigned on the above charges and released to pre-trial supervision pending his next court date.
