On April 29, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a search of incarcerated individual Scott Lamagna following the receipt of credible intelligence suggesting he was in possession of contraband. In the process of transporting Lamagna to Central Booking, he became uncooperative and tried to pull away from deputies. Lamagna deliberately tripped a deputy by entangling his leg with the deputy's leg. As a result, the deputy fell backwards, fracturing his arm at the wrist. The deputy was transported to a local hospital for treatment and may require surgery in the near future. Lamagna was found to be in possession of four large balloons containing synthetic cannabinoids and tobacco.
Scott M. Lamagna, 33, of Webster is charged with:
- Assault in the Second Degree (Class D-Felony)
- Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree (Class D-Felony)
- Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor)
Lamagna was arraigned in CAP Court and returned to the Monroe County Jail.
This incident illustrates the hard work and dedication of your Monroe County Jail Deputies in an often dangerous environment.
