On August 6, 2024 at 4:27 a.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Oakshire Way neighborhood in the Town of Henrietta for the report of larcenies from vehicles. According to witness statements, two individuals wearing masks were observed walking in the vicinity. A perimeter was established and, with the assistance of the MCSO Drone Unit and an Irondequoit Police Department K-9, a thorough search was performed for the suspects. Deputies found and detained them in the area of East Henrietta Road and I-390. It was determined that both individuals were juvenile males who were found with handbags containing stolen items, including jewelry, keys, loose change, air pods, and additional belongings. Following transportation to our B-Zone substation, the juveniles were interviewed by investigators in the presence of their parents.

The juveniles are charged with Petit Larceny and were released on appearance tickets in accordance with NYS law.

The investigation is ongoing, and MCSO is working to locate the rightful owners of all the recovered stolen property. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.

Our deputies and Drone Response Team worked hard to interrupt the criminal behavior and recover the stolen property for the victims. We are thankful to the Irondequoit Police Department for the assistance of their K9 unit.
