At 7:49 p.m. on April 2, 2024, Monroe County Sheriff's deputies were called to the parking lot of the Target store in the Town of Chili. An individual was exhibiting aggressive behavior and making threats with a knife. Witnesses described the suspect as a man wearing a black jacket, blue pants, and a mask. In a display of quick thinking, the Target employees promptly locked the front door of the store, effectively preventing the individual from gaining access. Upon arrival, deputies swiftly located a man matching the provided description near the front entrance of the store, detained him and found a knife in his possession. The investigation uncovered that the suspect used a knife to intimidate the victim and made threats of harm while demanding money. Deputies transported the suspect back to the Zone C substation for processing. While in the patrol car at the substation, he kicked the rear window, breaking it.
