At 3:20 a.m. on March 11, 2025, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a burglary in progress at the Van Bortel Ford on Marsh Road in the Town of Perinton. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with an employee who gave them the description of three male suspects. Deputies established a perimeter and were aided in their search efforts by the MCSO Drone Response Team and K9 Units. While conducting their investigation, the deputies observed three men in a gold Chevrolet Malibu parked behind a building down the road from the dealership. Through investigation, including a review of security footage, the men were identified as suspects, detained and transported to our A Zone substation for questioning. Evidence technicians processed the scene, noting damage to numerous desks in the business and pry marks damaging an exterior door.

 

Rahjule B. Keeton, 20, of Rochester is charged with:

  • Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D-Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree (Class D-Felony)

Lancear T. Alexander, 20, of Rochester is charged with:

  • Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D-Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree (Class D-Felony)

Hardy M. Porter Jr., 18, of Rochester is charged with:

  • Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D-Felony)
  • Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree (Class D-Felony)

 

Keeton and Porter were issued appearance tickets and released in accordance with NYS law. Alexander, who has two open felony cases, was arraigned in Perinton Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 bond.

The prompt response and collaborative efforts of our deputies, Drone Unit, K9 Unit, investigators, and evidence technicians ensured the successful resolution of this investigation. We are grateful to the Fairport Police Department for their assistance.
