On March 4, 2025, Kevin Williams was sentenced in Monroe County Court to the New York State Department of Corrections. Williams was taken into custody in the Monroe County Jail at approximately 12:00 p.m., to await his prison transfer. A body scan during the screening process raised concerns regarding the possible concealment of contraband. Shortly thereafter, Williams discharged a balloon filled with contraband. Deputies transported Williams to a local hospital where he passed two more balloons containing additional contraband. Deputies discovered two razor blades, synthetic cannabinoids and marijuana in the balloons.
Kevin Williams, 30, of Rochester was arrested and is charged with:
- Promoting Prison Contraband in the First Degree (Class D-Felony)
- Promoting Prison Contraband in the Second Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor)
Through their knowledge and experience, investigating deputies successfully prevented dangerous contraband from entering the Monroe County Jail, and potentially the New York State prison system keeping everyone safe. Excellent work by all involved.
