On September 18, 2024, at 5:51 a.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a business in Henrietta for the report of an attempted robbery. A man called 911 at 5:44 a.m. to report his wife was the victim of an attempted robbery at the intersection of Archer and Beaver Roads in the Town of Chili at approximately 5:30 a.m. The victim told deputies while stopped at the stoplight at Beaver and Archer Roads, she was approached from both sides by two black males. The male on the driver’s side displayed what appeared to be a handgun and ordered her out of the vehicle. According to the victim, the male hit her with the gun causing a cut to her face, during that altercation she managed to escape the situation and drive away. She then drove to Henrietta and reported the incident to the Sheriff’s Office. While the deputies were speaking with her, additional deputies and a K9 unit responded to the scene in Chili to search for suspects and any potential evidence.
Ever since the crime was reported, investigators have been tirelessly working on the case and are currently following up on active leads. They have been looking for witnesses, searching for video evidence and continue to work with the victim in an attempt to identify the suspects. One of the suspects is described as a teenaged black male, wearing dark pants, an orange hooded sweatshirt and a “twist” in his hair.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 911.
