MCSO Deputies Investigate Robbery at Brockport Walmart; Suspect Remains at Large

On July 14, 2024 shortly after noon, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Brockport Walmart, located at 6265 Brockport-Spencerport Rd. in the town of Sweden, for the report of two individuals fighting.

When deputies arrived, they quickly determined a robbery had occurred. Further investigation revealed a man exited the store with a large amount of meat that he did not pay for. A citizen who witnessed the theft approached the suspect in the parking lot, trying to intervene.

The suspect displayed a sharp object, at which time the citizen then displayed his legally registered handgun.

The robbery suspect was not taken into custody at the time and fled the area. The investigation has produced a number of leads that we are following up on in an effort to identify the individual responsible, and we hope to make an arrest in this case.
