(Rochester, New York) — Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter are pleased to announce a new collective bargaining agreement with the Monroe County Sheriff Police Benevolent Association (PBA). The Monroe County Legislature approved the agreement during this evening’s special meeting.
“This agreement is a significant step forward in supporting our law enforcement officers, and reflects the County’s commitment to ensuring competitive compensation and benefits for the dedicated men and women of the Monroe County Sheriff PBA,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. “Our mutual dedication to creating a safe and thriving community is demonstrated by this five year agreement, while advancing our shared priority of improving public safety for our residents. I am particularly proud that this contract offers military service incentive pay to our deputies, just as we do for advanced education. My thanks to Sheriff Baxter and the PBA for their diligence and willingness to get an agreement settled early to avoid our deputies working out of contract.”

Baxter. “This contract brings significant benefits, additional time off with family, and a salary commensurate with deputies’ responsibilities, bringing compensation on par with other local police agencies. I thank County Executive Adam Bello and the Legislature for their support of our public servants.”
The PBA’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the year, settling this contract ensures that Sheriff’s deputies are not working out of contract.
The new Monroe County Sheriff Police Benevolent Association Road Patrol contract covers five years from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2029. It includes annual pay increases over the life of the contract, an advantageous health care plan, an opportunity to work 12-hour shifts for certain positions, and adds incentive pay based on military experience in recognition of our veterans.

The ratification of this contract marks the 7th bargaining agreement Sheriff Baxter and his negotiating teams have settled, ahead of schedule, since taking office in 2018. Additionally, County Executive Bello has settled five collective bargaining agreements with units in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and 11 in total countywide since taking office in 2020.
