On September 5, 2024 at 6:12 p.m., while participating in a multi-jurisdictional stolen vehicle task force operation, Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies observed a 2013 gray Kia Sorrento driving erratically in the area of Lyell Avenue and Sherman Street in the City of Rochester. When deputies tried to stop the Kia, the driver refused to cooperate, intentionally striking two police cars in an effort to avoid arrest. McFarland. Williams was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. Several deputies were also treated for minor injuries at the scene.
