On April 6, 2025, at 1:48 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Wegmans at 745 Calkins Road in the Town of Henrietta for a larceny in progress. Witnesses saw two men load a shopping cart with energy drinks and pass all points of sale without paying. Upon arrival, deputies observed the suspects pushing the cart through the parking lot toward a Jeep Liberty occupied by a third man in the driver’s seat. The first suspect was taken into custody by deputies and subsequently identified as Zachary Buckingham. Following a brief foot chase, deputies arrested the second suspect and identified him as Nathan Moffett. Deputies apprehended and identified Theodore Knapp as the driver.

Zachary S. Buckingham, 31, of Penfield is charged with:

  • Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D-Felony)
  • Petit Larceny (Class A-Misdemeanor)

Nathan R. Moffett, 33, of Penfield is charged with:

  • Petit Larceny (Class A-Misdemeanor) 

Theodore R. Knapp, 22, of Perinton is charged with:

  • Petit Larceny (Class A-Misdemeanor)
     

Buckingham and Moffett were transported to the Monroe County Jail for arraignment in the Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court and released to pretrial supervision. Buckingham, who was previously banned from all Wegmans’ properties, has four outstanding warrants in Livingston County. Moffett has an outstanding warrant in Monroe and Livingston Counties. Knapp was issued an appearance ticket and released.
