On July 1, 2024 at 3:15 p.m., Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Honda Accord in the area of Rt. 390 at Chili Avenue in the Town of Gates. Deputies noticed the driver, Tamareion Roundtree, exhibited nervous behavior and attempted to hide a black bag between his feet. The deputies determined that Roundtree's NYS driver's license was suspended and subsequently detained him. Deputies located a black handgun with a 3D printed frame, a metal slide with no serial numbers, and a loaded magazine in the bag Roundtree tried to conceal. Roundtree does not possess a valid NYS pistol permit.
Tamareion J. Roundtree, 19, of Rochester is charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C-Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class D-Felony)
- Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree (Class U-Misdemeanor)
Roundtree was arraigned in Gates Town Court and Released on his Own Recognizance.
