Visitation FAQ
Visits are scheduled 7 days in advance (Monday for the following Monday, Tuesday for the following Tuesday, etc...). To schedule a visit, the public can call 585-753-4000 or schedule, Monday through Friday from the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. or until appointments are filled.
Visits can also be requested online at https://www.monroecountysheriff-ny.gov/our-bureaus/jail-bureau/jail-visitation-form and this form is accessible at any time.
Each incarcerated individual is allowed one, thirty-minute non-contact visit within 24 hours after their admission to the facility upon their request.
Visits will be conducted in a manner consistent with public decency to include, but are not limited to: No displaying gang signs, lewd conduct/gestures, and visitors shall not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Visitors will be permitted one layer of clothing. All visitors must be appropriately dressed to an acceptable standard of public decency. Piercings, jewelry (except wedding rings), gum/candy/food/liquids, tinted eyewear, hoodies, ripped jeans, hat/head wraps, jackets, watches, belts, scarves, hair pins, metal hair beads, revealing clothing, halter tops, strapless or thin/spaghetti strap tops, or any other item deemed inappropriate by staff are not permitted. Infants are allowed one blanket and a pacifier. No bottles are permitted.
Video visitation is a privilege and not affiliated with the required visitation per the NYSCOC Minimum Standards.
All visitors must register at securustech.net and be approved by security staff to participate in video visitation.
You must be 18 years of age to schedule a video visit. Minors are permitted to attend the visit.
The person who schedules the visit must remain present throughout the entire visit.
Visitors must provide a valid form of government-issued photo ID to register for video visitation. Accepted forms of ID are: non-expired Driver's License, Learner's Permit, or Non-Driver ID, or passport.
Any co-defendants or witnesses included as a party to the incarcerated individual's criminal case are prohibited from video visitation.
If you have a valid order of protection against the incarcerated individual you are prohibited from visiting them via video visitation.
General population inmates are permitted two, thirty minute visits per week.
All video visits will be conducted in a manner consistent with public decency. Video visits shall be conducted in a courteous, orderly and quiet manner. If necessary, a video visit may be terminated by Securus staff if visitors or incarcerated individuals participate in any of the following: the use of a cell phone, computer, camera or any other recording devices, displaying gang signs, driving, inappropriate/revealing clothing, nudity, using or appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, lewd conduct/gestures, sexual activities, scheduled visitor not being present, displaying of weapons or threatening behavior towards law enforcement.
Rule violations by visitors may lead to suspension or revocation of a visitor's ability to use the video visitation system. All video visitation is subject to monitoring and recording.
