On 1-12-24 at 1:08 am, Sarah E. Cornell (42 yoa) was inside 7-11 while the cashier was in the back. She stole an 18 pack of beer ($19.75), got into the passenger’s side of a vehicle and fled the scene. Deputies located the vehicle in the area of Rt. 490 and Rt. 590. Inside the vehicle was Cornell and the beer. She was arrested for Petit Larceny, issued an appearance ticket and released in accordance with NYS law.
Identity Theft 2nd / Panorama Trail / 24-006380
The victim reports on 1-2-24 he received a phone call from an unknown number claiming to be a collections agency. He initially believed the call to be a scam, but was suspicious after being provided the last four of his social security number. He was told the collections were for an open Verizon Wireless account, so he told the unknown caller he does not have a Verizon account and hung up. Following the phone call, the victim conducted a credit check and discovered an open Verizon account which was sent to collections in an amount of $615.

Between 1-15-24 at 7:00 pm and 1-16-24 at 8:35 am, unknown suspects smashed the victim's window and stole her purse containing four credit cards.
Stolen Vehicle GL 4th / Starboard Side Lane / 24-009781
Between 1-16-24 at 2:00 am and 9:20 am, unknown suspects stole a 2013 BMW X5. The victim reports he accidentally left his keys in the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered in the City of Rochester a couple of hours later.

The victim placed an envelope containing a check in the outgoing mailbox at the Wegmans located at 6600 Pittsford Palmyra Rd. On 12-29-23, the check was deposited into an unknown ESL Bank for the same amount. The check had been altered and made out to someone else.

On 1-11-24 at 8:20 pm, Steven R. Robbins (33 yoa) stole $115.26 in merchandise. He was previously banned from all Wegmans on 7-30-23, which makes this a burglary.

Burglary 2nd / Quinn Rd / 24-006259
On 01/10/24 deputies responded to Quinn Rd. for the report of a residential burglary. The homeowner states on 01/10/24 between 7:30 am and 3:00 pm, an unknown suspect entered her home and stole 2 pairs of Air Jordan sneakers, a Toshiba and HP laptop, and a Nintendo gaming station. The unknown suspect entered the home through an unsecured bedroom window. Neighborhood canvas was negative.
Petit Larceny /Resisting Arrest / Whitehouse Liquor and Wine (1000 Hylan Dr) / 24-006178
On 01/10/24 at 12:49 pm, a deputy was inside Whitehouse Liquor and Wine when a male identified as David Hassler III, 28, of Rochester concealed a bottle of liquor and ran past all points of sale. The deputy, in undercover clothing, addressed the male as law enforcement and the male attempted to run past him. He utilized subject management techniques to gain control of Hassler, who was transported to B Zone where he was processed and released with an appearance ticket per NYS law.

Deputies responded to the above address on 1/16/24 for the report of a known shoplifter in the store. Deputies arrested Nicholas J. Bucci, 41, of Mt. Morris for petit larceny and released him with an appearance ticket per NYS law.
Identity Theft 3rd / 393 Calkins Rd. / 24-007509
On 1/12/24, the victim came to the B Zone substation to report her Citizens Bank Credit Card was used in an attempt to make two online purchases at 2:00 am, for a total of $324. The transactions were flagged as fraudulent and there is no financial loss to the victim. She never lost her physical credit card, so somehow the suspect was able to use her credit card number.

Burg. 3rd / PL / Chili / 24-001708
On 1/3/24 at approximately 11:30 am, Wegmans Asset Protection observed a man exit the store without paying for several bags of merchandise. The man was located at the nearby bus stop, still holding the grocery bags, and was detained without incident. He was positively identified as Frederick Lange and it was learned he had been banned from all Wegmans stores on 12/24/23 for a period of two years. The value of the stolen property was $246.26 and Lange was arrested and released with an Appearance Ticket per NYS law.

Traffic Arrest / EB 490 W/O Exit / 24-005046
Wegmans A.P. reports Paul Weber selected $123.93 worth of merchandise and exited the store without paying. He left the location in a red Chrysler which deputies located getting onto EB Rt. 490 from Chili Center Coldwater Rd. The vehicle was stopped, Weber was detained and deputies coordinated a show-up procedure with Wegmans A.P. Ultimately, Weber was arrested and released with tickets for larceny and for driving on a suspended license.
Burglary 3rd / Petit Larceny / Chili Ave / 24-004361
On 1/7/24 at about 6:30 pm, Wegmans A.P. observed Maranique Dean select $14.46 worth of merchandise and passed all points of sale without paying. She was initially uncooperative with A.P., but became compliant when deputies arrived. It was soon found that Dean had been banned from all Wegmans’ properties on 11/6/23 for a duration of two years. She was processed at C Zone and released with appearance tickets per NYS law.
Petit Larceny / Chili Ave / 24-009370
On 1/15/24 at about 6:15 pm, a thin male, about 5’2” tall, wearing a black ski mask, black coat and black pants entered the Speedway and stole a case of Heineken, a case of Corona Extra and a case of Labatt Blue. He was last seen westbound on Chili Ave. in a red SUV. The license plates on the SUV were reported stolen from a vehicle in Webster. The total value of the beer loss is $49.97.

Grand Larceny 3rd / Brockport Spencerport Rd. / 24-001667
The General Manager at Mahan’s Liquor reports sometime between 12/22/23 and 12/24/23 an unknown suspect removed the 12/21/23 money drop from the business safe. It is believed as many as 15 employees clocked in during the time frame of the larceny and that multiple employees have access to the safe’s code. $8,668.65 was stolen and he has already contacted his insurance company.
Harassment / Fourth Section Rd. / 24-007860
On 1/12/24 at about 10:30 pm, the victim and a witness had just finished shopping at Walmart when they were approached by a confrontational group of males. A male from the group accused the witness of stealing his friend’s shoes, but neither the victim nor the witness recognized the males, other than from an additional incident these males were involved in at Walmart that evening. During the confrontation, the victim attempted to get between the male suspect and the witness, and the male intentionally bumped and pushed her back with his chest before leaving the location.

Walmart Asset Protection reports Nataliya Cobin was observed switching the bar codes on grocery items and then paying the less expensive price at the self-checkout. Cobin was cooperative with A.P. and with deputies during her arrest and was released with an appearance ticket per NYS law.

On 1/16/24 at about 11:20 am, deputies responded to the M&T Bank for a male attempting to pass a washed check. Upon arrival, bank employees reported that Gabriel Botana attempted to cash a check for $989.72 that had allegedly been written to him by the victim. The employee recognized that the check appeared to have been altered and attempted to stall Gabriel while contacting 911. Gabriel became nervous and left the location, but neglected to bring his NYSDL with him. A helpful citizen advised deputies that the male who had left the location was in a nearby parking lot in a Porsche SUV. Deputies found and stopped the vehicle, and a male matching Gabriel’s description was found as a backseat passenger. Deputies conducted a show up and Gabriel was positively identified. Further, the victim was contacted and he reported the check in question was issued prior to September of 2022 and permission was never given to make alterations to it. Gabriel was arrested and released with an appearance per NYS law.

An employee of Kwik Fill reports on 1/10/24 at about 10:00 pm, a male, approximately 5’2” and weighing about 200 lbs. entered the store and stole Newport cigarettes, Black and Mild cigars and other various merchandise with a total value of $162.74. Prior to exiting the store, he stole the reporting person’s wallet containing credit cards, which was sitting out on the counter. The male reportedly left the location in an early 2000s small gray Honda with Pennsylvania license plates.

The victim reports between 11/16/23 and 12/2/23, three checks with a total value of $1412.91 were stolen from her mailbox. All three were deposited into another person’s account via the Bank of America mobile app.
