Attempted Bail Scam / Cristine Cir. / 25-040776

On March 5, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., an unidentified individual falsely identifying himself as Sergeant Frank Hagan of “The Police Department Badge” contacted the victims. He claimed their daughter was in a motor vehicle accident, her phone was being held for evidence because she was at fault, and the caller then requested bail money in cash. When the victims explained they did not have a daughter, the caller corrected himself and said their son. They recognized this as a scam and hung up.

 

PL – Energy Drinks / Wegmans 2157 Penfield Rd. / 25-045339

At 2:10 p.m. on March 11, 2025, two people described as in their twenties stole $447.65 worth of Red Bull. The suspects fled in a gray, possibly a Volkswagen station wagon. Photos sent to MCSO Social Media.

 

DWI / Five Mile Line Rd. / 25-048420

On March 16, 2025, at 7:21 a.m., deputies responded to 1932 Penfield Road for the report of a car hitting a street sign. Upon their arrival, they located the vehicle parked a driveway/grass on Penfield Rd. Inside the vehicle was Ashlee Kunzer (31). Ashlee was asleep behind the wheel of the car and when she was awoken by deputies, she instantly became combative. Arrested for DWI.

 

PL Arrest / Wegmans 2157 Penfield Rd. / 25-048754

CPCS 7th Arrest / 25-048780

At 3:18 p.m. on March 16, 2025, Tyrone L. Graham (46), who is on parole, stole $157.90 in merchandise from Wegmans. He left the area as a passenger in a Subaru Outback. A deputy spotted the suspect vehicle as she was responding to the scene and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was identified as David H. Montmarquet (29). After positively identifying Graham, deputies searched the vehicle. They found a small, transparent bottle with fentanyl inside. Montmarquet was determined to be the owner of the fentanyl and was arrested for CPCS 7th and issued an appearance ticket.

 

PL / Wegmans 1955 Empire Blvd. / 25-048850

On March 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., two males stole Monster energy drinks valued at $288.30 from the above Wegmans. The first suspect was wearing a black sweater, tan pants and a blue medical mask covering his face. The second suspect was a wearing a white hoodie, black pants and a blue medical mask covering his face. They drove away in a brownish SUV with an unknown license plate. These suspects are believed to be tied to numerous energy drink thefts around the county. 

PL Arrest / Wegmans 1955 Empire Blvd / 25-048119

On 3/15/25 at 6:08 p.m., Bruce D. Ellis (26) stole $494.65 worth of grocery items from Wegmans. Deputies were already in the store on a separate call, saw Ellis walk out the side door, ditch the groceries and run away. A short foot pursuit ensued and Ellis was captured hiding in the women’s bathroom of a store across the street.

GL 3rd / Bristol View Dr. / 25-049938

The victim states on 03/06/25 he received a voicemail from someone asking him to authorize a payment of $1,400 on his Amazon account. He called the phone number and was transferred to someone from the “Bank Fraud Department.” The victim was transferred a second time to someone claiming to be a chief investigation federal officer. In sum and substance, the victim was told he needed to pay $22,120 to protect his identity. He sent the money via UPS overnight delivery to an individual out of state.

 

Perinton 

Suspicious Condition – Scam / Ramsdell Park / 25-044706

The victim met an unknown male who goes by “Andrew Roberts” online. Andrew has coerced / threatened the victim into being a part of a scam. An older woman who lives in Colorado sent the above Perinton victim two checks, one for $40,000 and one for $25,000. After depositing the checks, the Perinton victim converted the money into cryptocurrency and then put it into an account Andrew can access. The Perinton victim was tricked into the scam, believing she was assisting the Colorado woman. On two occasions, bank employees talked to the victim, believing she was targeted by a scam because of suspicious fund transfers. The money is currently inaccessible because of a bank freeze. The checks are good checks.

 

PL Arrest / CVS 1304 Fairport Rd. / 25-045341

At 9:16 a.m. on March 12, 2025, 37-year-old Nicholas P. Chiavaroli took $162.47 worth of Red Bull and Monster Energy drinks. Witnesses reported seeing him running west away from the store. Deputies, while responding to the scene, located and arrested Chiavaroli. He was issued appearance tickets for the larceny and an outstanding Pittsford warrant.

 

Burglary 3rd / GL 4th / Locust Lane / 25-051360

Unknown suspects burglarized an apartment between 3:00 p.m. on March 19, 2025, and 9:00 a.m. on March 20, 2025, stealing several DeWalt tools.

Pittsford

Stolen Vehicle / 3200 Monroe Ave. / 25-048761

At approximately 3:25 pm on March 16th, unknown suspects in a black Kia broke into a vehicle in the Petco parking lot. A person wearing all black clothing broke the driver's side door handle off a black 2017 Hyundai Elantra before stealing it. The suspects left the area, traveling west on Monroe Ave. in the Elantra and black Kia. The Kia was reported stolen from Rochester earlier in the day.

On 3/15/25 at 12:15 p.m., an unknown man wearing a red hoodie, green backpack and a red Marshalls’ reusable shopping bag stole four pairs of sneakers valued at $374.90.

 

PL / TJ Max 3349 Monroe Ave. / 25-050207

On 3/16/25 at 4:15 p.m., two unknown males stole two bicycles, each valued at $124.99. Photos were posted to MCSO Social Media. 

Stolen Vehicle / 3349 Monroe Ave. / 25-52595

The victim reports she parked her 2021 white Hyundai Tucson at the above location and when she returned, her vehicle was gone. A reported stolen blue Hyundai Elantra, was found parked next to where her car used to be.

 

PL / Marshalls 3340 Monroe Ave. / 25-051665

On 3/16/25 at 7:48 p.m., a woman stole $558.72 in clothing items, hair care and bath products.

Stolen Vehicles:

Penfield / Liberty St. / 25-055212

Between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on 3/25/25, unknown suspects stole (V#1) the victim’s white 2016 Kia Optima four-door sedan. The door handle was ripped off, and the car was hot-wired. The vehicle was later recovered from Home Depot parking lot 750 Panorama Trail South.

 

Penfield / Panorama Trail South / 25-055209

Between 5:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. on 3/25/25, unknown suspects dumped (V#1), the above 2016 white Kia at this location and then stole the victim’s red 2017 Kia Sorento (V#2). This vehicle was hot-wired and has not been recovered.

 

Pittsford / St John Fisher University / East Ave. / 25-055276  

On 3-25-25 at 5:18 p.m., (V#2) the above stolen red Kia Sorento arrives in the S Lot of St. John Fisher University. Additionally, a stolen 2019 blue Hyundai Sonata (V#3) arrives in the lot as well. Two individuals exit the vehicles and approach a 2020 blue Hyundai Elantra (V#4). One suspect steals the Elantra (V#4), the other male reenters the Kia Sorento (V#2), and they leave with the two vehicles. (V#3) The Hyundai Sonata was left behind and recovered.

 

(V#4) The Hyundai Elantra was later recovered in Rochester.
