On 5-4-24 at 5:50 p.m. Rosaleigh S. Diaz (age 24) stole Monster Energy Drinks and steaks ($379.92). She was taken into custody and the product was recovered.

Steven Joyce reports between 3:30 p.m. on 5/10/24 and 7:00 a.m. on 5/13/24, someone stole a 40’ Louisville ladder valued at $800 from the scaffolding at a construction site.

On the morning of May 4, 2024, the victim reported that an unidentified suspect had stolen his wallet, which contained credit cards, from his gym bag. Numerous unauthorized charges were made on the stolen credit cards.

During an inspection of the parking lot at the specified location on 5/15/24, aimed at preventing vehicle thefts, deputies observed the driver's door handle of a 2018 Kia Sportage had been broken off and was found lying on the ground.

On 5-16-24 at 12:10 p.m., Karen Marie Matteson (age 63) stole $297.97 in merchandise.

GL 3rd / 1209 Bay Rd / 24-078860

On 5-6-24 at 6:55 a.m., the victim parked his 2012 Nissan Altima in the parking lot of the Bayview YMCA. He placed his keys in an unlocked locker and an unknown suspect stole his keys and then his car.

PL / Wegmans 6600 Pittsford Palmyra Rd. / 24-078608

On 5-5-24 at 3:00 p.m., a man stole $147.53 in merchandise from Wegmans and left in a 2001 black Toyota Camry with front driver's side damage.

Between 5:00 p.m. on 5/14/24 and 6:30 a.m. on 5/15/24, someone entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the driveway and stole property from inside.

On 5-12-24 at 11:11 a.m. an unknown man stole $304.82 in men’s and children’s clothing.

Petit Larceny / 2350 Marketplace Dr (Lowes) / 24-075188

On 04/30/24, deputies responded to the above location for a delayed larceny report. Lowes Loss Prevention reports an unknown suspect entered the store on 04/29/24, at noon, and stole a Recycler self-propelled lawn mower. The suspect fled the location in a white 2012 Chevrolet Silverado.

Burglary 3rd/Petit Larceny / 1175 Marketplace Dr (Lasertron) / 24-076070

On 05/01/24, at 9:29 p.m., deputies responded to the above location for a burglary alarm from the rear door. Deputies located an unsecure door and searched the building for suspects. A contact responded and viewed camera footage of the rear door. Two suspects were seen entering the rear door and stealing spray paint cans ($50), a broken television ($50), a gas power washer ($250), an electric power washer ($100) and a small floor fan ($80). During the investigation, a deputy observed a gray Hyundai SUV (no license plate) driving through the rear lot. Deputies conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle, but while attempting to identify the driver, the vehicle sped off. Further review of the camera footage revealed one suspect was the same male who was operating the Hyundai SUV.

Petit Larceny / Lowe’s (2350 Marketplace Dr) / 24-077119

On 05/03/24 at 11:48 a.m., a man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a camo baseball hat entered Lowe’s and removed a smart sprinkler head and a trimmer head from their packaging before concealing the product inside his hoody pocket. The man then walked past all points of sale without rendering payment. The suspect left the location in a black fusion towards Hylan Dr.

On 5/04/24, between 8:30 and 9:00 at night, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s laptop. The laptop was left unattended in the gaming lounge of her dormitory. 

Criminal  Mischief 3rd/ Petit Larceny / 1 Miracle Mile Dr (Snipes) / 24-077766

Between 10:15 and 10:45 in the morning on 05/04/24, an unknown suspect broke out the rear driver's side window of the victim’s vehicle and stole a pair of Air Jordan sneakers. The victim just purchased the sneakers and was involved in an argument with another store customer over allegations that he had cut him in line so he could buy them. Camera footage showed a gray Honda Accord pull up to the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot, but the vehicle had a paper license plate on it.

Loss Prevention for BJ’s reports on 05/05/24, an unknown suspect entered the store and stole $150 worth of steak and socks. The suspect then fled the location in a white work van.

Petit Larceny / 650 Hylan Dr. / 24-079747

Wegmans Asset Protection reports on 05/07/24, an unknown woman entered the store and stole multiple cases of energy drinks. She then left the location in a brown Chevrolet Malibu.

Burg 2nd/GL 3rd / Sussex Rd / 24-082559

On 05/12/24, at 4:17 a.m., a suspect stole the victim’s 2010 Chevrolet Silverado from his driveway. The vehicle keys were taken from the attached garage and there were additional items (tools, batteries) inside the stolen truck. The Ring doorbell showed a male (unknown description) walking near the garage and stealing the vehicle.

GL 3rd / 745 Calkins Rd (Wegmans) / 24-082612

On 05/12/24, between 8:30 and 10:00 in the morning, an unknown suspect stole a 2022 Kia Sportage from the Wegmans parking lot. The alarm system lock was found where the vehicle had been parked. 

GL 4th / High Manor Dr / 24-082999

Between 10:00 p.m. on 05/12/24 and 2:00 a.m. on 05/13/24, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s keys and purse she accidentally left outside her apartment door in the vestibule area. The purse contained 12 various credit cards, and she was canceling all of them. 

Wheatland

Identity Theft 1st / Wheatland Center Rd / 24-075840

Approximately 2 weeks ago, the victim received a call from a collection agency notifying him of a $6,000 bill from Verizon Wireless. He was informed that an account was opened in his name with Verizon in June 2022, even though he doesn't have an account with them. He claimed that his former employer fell victim to a data breach during that timeframe, resulting in the theft of personal information and social security numbers of many employees. No additional information at this time.

Criminal Mischief 3rd / Wind Willow Way / 24-076443

Sometime between midnight and 12:25 in the morning on 5/2/24 an unknown suspect damaged the rear passenger side window of the victim’s 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. The estimated value of the damaged window is $500.00.

CPCS 7 / OGA / Chili Ave. / 24-078420

On 5/5/24, deputies observed Salvatore Latone ride his bicycle between the Mavis Tire Building and the Town and Country Family Restaurant. Deputies are familiar with Latone from previous incidents and were aware that Latone had an outstanding wanted package from Gates PD and warrants from across the county. Latone was approached and advised he had warrants at which time he attempted to flee on his bicycle. Deputies removed Latone from his bicycle as he rode away, and Latone was taken into custody without further incident. Upon a search after arrest, Latone was found to be in possession of a crack pipe and a small amount of crack cocaine. He was brought back to C Zone, where Gates Investigators interviewed him on separate charges. Latone was remanded to MCJ with no bail because of his predicate felon status.

Criminal Mischief 4th / Chili Riga Ctr. / 24-077923

On 5/4/24 there was a dispute between neighbors over the behavior of some children in the area. In response to the victim’s assertion that some kids and their parents were acting disrespectfully, Joseph Shanley drove to the location and tried to confront and stop the victim from leaving. Upon the victim entering his vehicle and attempting to reverse and drive away, Joseph forcefully shattered the driver's side window. Joseph leaped onto the hood of the car as they attempted to drive off. V applied his brakes to roll Joseph off the vehicle and subsequently struck Joseph’s parked vehicle while leaving the area to call 911. The estimated value of the damaged window is $200.00. Joseph was arrested and released with an appearance ticket.

Parma

Criminal Mischief 1st / Bennett Rd. / 24-078976

The reporting person works for Genesee Land Trust and contracts through United Rentals to supply porta-potties at public locations. On 5/6/24, he found one unit had a damaged body and burn marks inside. An individual in the area offered video showing a vehicle pull up on 5/4/24 at 10:08 p.m. An individual ran up and lit what appeared to be a large mortar-style firework, put it into the porta-potty and two explosions were seen from the bottom of the unit. The suspect then ran back to the vehicle and the vehicle left the area. The vehicle returned at about 12:55 p.m and the entire process was repeated with a second mortar-style firework. Nothing further was noted.
