On 6-25-24 the 24-year-old victim received a call from a male with a Middle Eastern accent. He identified himself as a police officer from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. He informed her that there was a warrant in her name and in order to resolve it, she was required to make a payment of $10,000 in gift cards, which she complied with. She then learned she was scammed.
Att. GL 3rd/ CM 4th /Live Oak Ct. / 24-112241
On 6/28/24 at approximately 5:35 am, A-Zone deputies responded to Live Oak Ct. for the report of two males who had broken into a Hyundai and were attempting to steal it. Deputies responded and observed two males inside the victim’s vehicle. The males left the area on foot. Deputies chased and caught both males. Both males were juveniles and arraigned in Family Court and released with electronic monitoring.
CM 4th 1879 Blossom Rd / 24-116264
The incident occurred on July 4, 2024, around 7:29 am, when the victim, while walking his dog in Ellison Park, encountered an unfamiliar individual. The suspect, described as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds, had a red beard and was wearing a black turban with light-colored linen clothing. He appeared to be agitated at the victim for an unknown reason, so the victim returned to his vehicle to go to a different section of the park. While he was driving, the man exited his white Audi with a pipe like object and struck the rear window of the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then left the location westbound on Blossom Rd.

On 6-25-24 at 4:04 pm, the victim left her purse containing credit cards, phone etc. in her shopping cart in the cart return shed in the parking lot. When she left, an unknown suspect stole her purse.
Update
Through investigation, it was determined the suspect was Thomas Payne (59 yoa). Payne is charged with GL 4th and PL.

The victim recently received her bank statement and discovered multiple unauthorized transactions from her checking account. The transactions occurred between 6/12/24 and 6/25/24, and totaled over $45,000.

The victim and his wife went on vacation from June 23rd, 2024, to July 2nd, 2024. When they returned home, he realized that his AutoMower 315 was no longer in his yard.

The victim reported that on 7/2/24 between 1:00 and 2:00 pm, someone stole her purse containing multiple credit cards and cash from her vehicle. The victim’s vehicle was parked on the side of the road when she went for a bike ride due to the parking lot being full.
Pittsford
GL 3rd / Home Sense 3349 Monroe Ave / 24-104920
Between 4-29-24 and 6-5-24 employee Christopher J Ortiz-Ferrer (24 yoa) stole a total of $6,235.92 by doing fraudulent returns.
Ortiz-Ferrer turned himself in on 6-27-24 and was arrested for GL 3rd and released on an APT in accordance with NYS law.

The victim’s stolen Chase credit card was used on 6/14/24 at Malcho’s to purchase $43.79 in gas from the fuel pumps, and also at Walmart to purchase $538.92 in merchandise. The suspect was described as a thin build man, possibly in his 20s with black hair in a bun. He was wearing a black champion hoodie, black pants, white sneakers, and a black medical face mask. The victim is unsure if his wallet was stolen from his vehicle at his home or if it was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked at Pittsford Plaza on 6/13/24.

On 6/14/24 an individual in Pittsford contacted the victim to inform her a purse containing her belongings was located in a parking lot. The victim reviewed her cameras and discovered on 6/14/24 at about 03:41 am an unknown person walked up her driveway and went through her unlocked vehicles, ultimately stealing her purse.
Update
As a result of an investigation by deputies, Christopher Zagaroli (18 yoa) was identified as the perpetrator of the crimes. He was arraigned in Pittsford Town Court and remanded to MCJ on $1,500 cash/$5,000 bond.

Asset Protection for Marshalls reported that on 6/26/24 at approximately 2:06 pm, an unknown suspect selected various men’s clothing articles with a total value of $420.75 and left the location without rendering payment for the merchandise. The suspect was described as an average build man wearing a black baseball cap and gray shirt with a teddy bear on it.

Between 10:00 pm on 7/2/24 and 7:00 am on 7/3/24, unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s unlocked vehicles which were parked in the driveway of the residence and took their property. A wallet containing several credit cards stolen from one unlocked vehicle and a Dewalt tool bag containing 4 batteries, 2 drills, an angle grinder, and an oscillating saw with a total value of $900 was stolen from the other vehicle.
Robbery 2nd/Assault 3rd / 3349 Monroe Ave / 24-115801
On 7/3/24 at 2:12 pm, deputies responded to Five Below located at 3349 Monroe Ave. for the report of a larceny in progress involving two females. As the females were exiting the store with the property, an employee attempted to stop them and the suspects attacked the employee. One female forcefully rammed the shopping cart into the employee, tried pushing past her, and then began to punch and pull the hair of the employee. The other female became involved in the altercation by throwing punches at the employee as well. They left the location and were ultimately located and detained by deputies behind 3246 Monroe Ave. The females were determined to be juveniles. Both are on probation and one is on electronic monitoring. Both juveniles were transported to the Children’s Detention Center.

On 7/2/24 at 11:39 am, the unknown suspect selected $251.86 worth of men’s clothing and women’s shoes before exiting the store without rendering payment for the merchandise.

On 7-9-24 at 2:42 pm, a male wearing a white shirt, black jeans, white sneakers and a white bucket hat entered the store through the main entrance. He went to the shoe section of the store and began filling plastic bags with $862.54 worth of men’s shoes. Suspect left in a white minivan with a partial license plate of “L492”.

On 7/1/24 at 5:02 pm, a man described as being between 25 and 35 years old, 6’1” and 200lbs stole $77.76 worth of merchandise.

Sometime between 11:23 pm and 5:45 am on 7/2/24, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle from the parking lot of his town home. The vehicle was reported to have been locked, and both sets of keys for the vehicle are accounted for.

On 07/02/24, deputies responded to the above location for the report of a robbery. At 4:30 p.m., while walking on Countess Drive, the victim was suddenly attacked by someone who punched him in the side of the head. After falling down, he received additional punches to his head. When he looked up, he recognized the suspects as former friends of his. One male stole his iPhone 11 following the altercation. The suspects left the area before the deputies could reach the scene. Although no injuries were observed, the victim was transported to Strong hospital because of head pain.

On 07/02/24, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the above location. The suspect stole 2 pairs of sneakers and various tools.
Burglary 2nd/GL 4th / Countess Dr. / 24-114970
Between 11:30 p.m. on 7/01/24 and 11:20 a.m. on 7/02/24, an unknown suspect entered an apartment and stole a green 2022 24” iMac computer. During this time frame, the victim requested the complex maintenance come to his apartment and fix a leak in his bathtub. Upon returning to his apartment, he noticed the front door was unlocked, the ceiling fans were turned on, and his toilet seat was left up.
Attempted Burglary 3rd/ Criminal Mischief 2nd / 2325 Marketplace Dr, / 24-115688
Target Asset Protection reports between 11:46 p.m. on 7/02/24 and 12:40 a.m. on 7/03/24, an unknown male (black hooded sweatshirt, black shorts, black sneakers) attempted to break into the store by smashing out the rear receiving door window ($1,6000 damage). The suspect could not make an entry into the store and the video was forwarded to MCAC for an attempt to ID.
Grand Larceny 3rd / 3955 W Henrietta Rd (Garber Automotive) / 24-135020
Garber Automotive reports that, on 7/03/24, between 4:28 p.m. and 4:45 p.m., an unknown suspect stole $10,000 worth of fencing material. Surveillance video shows a male arrive at the dealership and load up the back of his white GMC pickup truck (unknown license plate) with the fencing material.
GL 4th / 1200 Marketplace Dr. (Walmart) / 24-118929
On 7/7/24, Mariah Staubes loaded up on a variety of items, such as Maybelline makeup, Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and baby wipes, filling up two shopping carts around 10:00 p.m. Mariah attempted to leave without paying for the items. The merchandise in both carts amounted to a total value of $1,177.31. Deputies completed the arrest and Staubes was released on an appearance ticket in accordance with NYS law.
Burg 3rd / GL 3rd / 290 Jefferson Rd. (U-Haul) / 24-118709
At around midnight on 7/7/24, an unidentified man broke into U-Haul by prying open the front door. He then stole the keys for a Dodge Ram Van and drove off with the vehicle. The same man came back to the location in the same Dodge Van after 45 minutes and entered the store again. He returned the keys to the Dodge and took the keys for a 2024 Chevy Silverado. He left the area with the Chevy. U-Haul will provide the tracking information for the Chevy and the video of the incident.
Harassment 2nd / 1167 Brighton Henrietta Town Line Rd. (Show World) / 24-119096
During the early morning of 7/8/24, two individuals (a man and a woman) entered Show World and started an argument with an employee. In the middle of the argument, the unidentified male unexpectedly punched the employee in the face. The employee successfully removed the aggressive individuals from the store. Video will be gathered by Show World and given to MCSO.

Sierra Trading Post Loss Prevention reports on 07/08/24, an unknown male (long dirty blonde dreads, beard, Reebok t-shirt) entered the store and stole $379.93 worth of camping equipment.

On 7/10/24, between 3:25 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., an unknown suspect stole the victim’s black Coleman motorbike from the parking lot.

Between 11:15 p.m. on 7/11/24 and 2:10 a.m. on 07/12/24, an unknown suspect stole a 2019 Kia Forte. Deputies observed broken glass on the ground near the spot where the vehicle had been parked. The victim also stated he left personal items and a credit card inside the vehicle. Someone attempted to use his credit card five times at a Sunoco gas station and only one charge went through ($34.71).

On 7/11/24, an unknown suspect broke out the driver's side window of the victim’s 2016 Chevrolet Traverse. Surveillance video was reviewed and showed a dark colored Chevrolet sedan pull up next to the vehicle before the window was broken out.

PetSmart reports on 7/09/24, an unknown male and an unknown female entered the store and stole $619 worth of merchandise.
Grand Larceny 4th / 2325 Marketplace Dr. (Target) / 24-122849
On 07/13/24, the victim accidentally left her purse inside her shopping cart prior to leaving Target. Upon her return to the store, she discovered her purse, containing her Android cell phone and multiple credit cards, had disappeared. Target Asset Protection reviewed the store video and observed an unknown male take the purse and leave the parking lot in a black sedan. The male returns several minutes later and enters the store to make a purchase on the victim’s Visa debit card.

Citizens Bank reports on 7/16/24, an unknown suspect stole a Stihl backpack blower from inside their unlocked landscaping truck.
Grand Larceny 3rd / Winton Rd / 24-124534
Between 6:00 p.m. on 7/15/24 and 11:00 a.m. on 7/16/24, an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 2018 Hyundai Sonata. The vehicle was updated with anti-theft software and had a steering wheel lock. She left her AirPods inside the vehicle and they last pinged in the area of Joseph Ave on 7/16/24 at 1:00 in the morning. The victim’s father was able to locate the vehicle parked in front of a residence on Kelly St. in Rochester. Deputies responded to the location for the vehicle recovery and completed the report.

Kohls reports on 7/16/24, two unknown males entered the store and stole two bags full of sneakers. The males were seen leaving the location in a black Chevrolet.

Residential Burglary / CM / Chestnut Ridge Rd. / 24-116900
The victim went to inspect the property at about 1:30 am on July 5th, 2024 and found that someone had forcefully damaged both the rear door leading to the attached garage and the door connecting the garage to the house in order to gain entry. He estimates the total damage at $3,000.00. The suspect(s) used a tool from the garage to pry the door into the home. There doesn't seem to be any other damage or theft. The victim also mentioned that a couple of days earlier, he had inspected the property and came across a drawing of male genitalia on the garage floor. Additionally, he found a hooded sweatshirt inside the house that had been left behind by a possible suspect. However, upon his return on 7/5, the sweatshirt was missing, along with the newly discovered damage. Follow-up to continue. **S/A to this location for vandals / squatters. V will press charges.**

On 7/7/24 at about 1:10 p.m., deputies responded for two males on the railroad bed near a train car. The males, later identified as Kevin Clark and William Connor, attempted to walk and then run away from deputies when approached. They were eventually detained without further incident and charged at the request of CSX.

Wegmans Asset Protection reports on 7/7/24 at about 11:00 a.m., three males in their 20s convinced a cashier to process a declined credit card as a “cash card.” In doing so, the males were able to purchase $379.54 worth of MasterCard gift cards using a “cash card” that has no value. These same males are suspects in a similar incident that occurred at the Perinton Wegmans on 7/7/24 (CR #24-118885).

On 7/8/24 at approximately 7:10 p.m., Wegmans Asset Protection called to report that a suspect stole food products and fled the store. Deputies noticed the suspect nearby and a pursuit on foot ensued after they tried to engage with him. John Bourdreau, who was later identified as the suspect, was located in the woods and successfully apprehended after a K9 track. The value of the stolen property is $153.91. Bourdreau was released with an appearance ticket.

On 7/9/24 at about 9:45 a.m., Wegmans Asset Protection called to report a suspect loaded his backpack with Enfamil baby formula, Snickers bars, and electric Razors with a total value of $330.43. The male, later identified as Erick Moore, passed all points of sale and was met just outside the store by deputies. Moore actively resisted arrest, and while being taken into custody, a deputy sustained an injury to his right knee. Moore was found to have 13 active warrants (five of which are from MCSO). He was arraigned in Chili Town Court and remanded to MCJ without bail due to his predicate felon status.

The victim left his 2018 Chevrolet Equinox unlocked in his driveway between 5:00 p.m. on 7/10/24 and 5:30 a.m. on 7/11/24. During that time, an unknown suspect entered the vehicle and stole a black Unication G5 P25 Pager and a pair of prescription Oakley sun glasses. The total value of the stolen property is approximately $640.00.

Petit Larceny / Lake Rd, Swe (Runnings) / 24-115711
On 7/3/23 at 11:50 a.m., a male wearing a red Coca Cola shirt arrived in an older white Chevy Express work van with a ladder rock on the top and a switched trailer plate on the rear. The male entered the store and proceeded to steal a Dewalt brand saw and drill.
Petit Larceny / Brockport Spencerport Rd. / 24-119610
The victim and her daughter were shopping at Walmart on 7/8/24 at 9:10 p.m. and they both left their wallets unattended in their cart for 5-10 minutes. When they returned, both wallets were missing. The victim’s wallet was located in the restroom by an employee and was only missing $5.00 in cash. The daughter’s wallet was never located. However, surveillance video showed an unknown female walk into the restroom between when the wallets were stolen and when the wallet was recovered. Shortly after, the female made a cash purchase and could clearly be seen in possession of the daughter’s wallet.
Grand Larceny 4 / Transit Way / 24-120009
On 7/9/24 at 1:40 p.m., the victim called to report his 2005 Saturn Ion stolen from the Speedway Gas station. Deputies observed the vehicle traveling E/B on Rt. 531. After turning around and catching up with the vehicle, a traffic stop was initiated, but the suspect failed to comply. The driver veered across the grass median and continued east in the W/B lane of Rt. 531. Deputies canceled the pursuit, but the vehicle was observed pulling onto the Manitou Rd. ramp and turning around to drive back west in the W/B lane of 531. The driver, later identified as Joseph Jennejahn, abandoned the car and attempted to flee on foot and he was quickly apprehended. Jennejahn was issued eight UTTs, to include Reckless Driving and AUO. He was arraigned in Sweden Town Court and remanded to MCJ without bail due to his predicate felon status.

Victim reports her ESL Debit Card was lost or stolen after 1:00 p.m. on 7/4/24. She was with her daughter and purchased a coffee maker at Tops. When she realized it was missing, she called ESL to report it lost, and they told her there were 7 pending charges which she claims were unauthorized.
