Penfield / Perinton and Pittsford
During the overnight hours of Fri 8/30 to Sat 8/31, ten vehicles were stolen from various locations around A Zone. Additionally, a number of other vehicles were entered without being stolen. Two vehicles have been recovered in the city of Rochester and two others were recovered at other theft sites in A Zone.
Penfield
GL 3rd / Stolen Vehicle / Pennwood Dr. / 24-151999
On 8-28-24 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) stole victims 2020 Hyundai Elantra. After a crash, where individuals were spotted running away from the vehicle, it was recovered before the victim realized it had been stolen.
GL 4th / Panorama Trail / 24-152083
On 8-23-24 between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., a ring and watch went missing from a residence (value $2,300). The homeowner recently hired a company to clean the house. Through investigation, it was discovered that a member of the cleaning crew had stolen both the ring and the watch. The employee, Amar Tursunovic (age 18), returned the property, was charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th degree and released on an appearance ticket in accordance with NYS law.

On 08/28/24 at 9:38 a.m., deputies responded to Walmart for a larceny in progress. Two women stole $400 worth of miscellaneous items and left in a gold 2011 Chevy Malibu. Deputies located and attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspects refused to comply. The vehicle was found on Weeger Street in the City, blocking traffic. Two females ran from the vehicle. They have been identified and the investigation is continuing.

On 9-1-24 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:50 p.m., an unknown suspect slashed three tires on the victim’s vehicle.
PL Arrest / Wegmans 1955 Empire Blvd / 24-154873
On 9-1-24 at 11:24 p.m., Brian A. Powell (41 yoa) stole $44.96 in merchandise. Deputies apprehended him in the parking lot and later released him on an appearance ticket in accordance with NYS law.
Larceny / 1648 Five Mile Line Road / 24-153620
On 8/30/24 at approximately 8:44 p.m., someone stole the victim's car keys from a picnic table while she was not looking.
PL / CI 2nd / ID Theft 3rd / Crown Oak Dr. / 24-152722
At 10:40 a.m. on August 29, 2024, the victim was delivered a package via USPS containing mineral rock valued at $60. An unknown suspect forged the victim’s signature and stole the package.
Perinton
CM 4th / Pittsford Palmyra Rd. / 24-152751
On 8-29-24 at 4:33 p.m., the victim was involved in a car accident with Kayshawn L Nelson (age 30). They were each driving their vehicles and the cause of the accident was a sideswipe where Nelson was trying to merge left and the victim allegedly would not let Nelson in. After the collision, Nelson approached the victim, who was still in his car. Nelson pulled the door handle off of the victim’s vehicle and then began kicking the window. Nelson was arrested for Criminal Mischief 4th and released on an appearance ticket.
Pittsford
PL / DICKS 3349 Monroe Ave. / 24-154564
On 9-1-24 at 11:24 a.m., a man, approximately 25-40 years old, and 6’ tall wearing a dark baseball hat, dark shoes, dark pants, and a long-sleeved orange shirt grabbed an armful of clothing items ($400) and fled in a four-door sedan. Photos to be posted to MCSO Social Media.
PL Arrest / Marshall’s 3349 Monroe Ave / 24-154133
On 8-31-24 at 5:10 p.m., Rhonda S. Dixon (48 yoa) stole $73.93 worth of clothing by making false returns and using the store credit to purchase some items while stealing other items directly. She was arrested and released on an appearance ticket.
GL 4th / Marshall’s 3349 Monroe Ave. / 24-153605
On 8-30-24 at 8:18 a.m., a man was seen loading a blue laundry bag full of clothing and exiting the store. When stopped outside by the security staff, the man left the items and fled in a red Lexus sedan. The total value of the recovered merchandise was $1,052.46.
Stolen vehicle / Damage to a second vehicle / Palmyra Rd. / 24-155100
On 9-2-24 at 10:25 a.m., 3-4 males and possibly a female (all around 14-16 yoa) were seen by a witness in the driveway of the home of the above address. The witness saw an SUV the youths arrived in. Some of the teens forcibly entered the neighbor's car by removing the door handle and hot wiring it, before making their escape in both vehicles. The stolen vehicle is a 2019 Hyundai Elantra. A second vehicle (Kia) was parked in the victim’s driveway and sustained about $5000 in steering column damage, but the suspects were unsuccessful in stealing it.

On 09/03/2024 at 2:13 a.m., two males were seen breaking into vehicles. The first man was wearing a black hoodie with white lettering and black pants. The second is described as about 20 years old, wearing a red hoodie, plaid pajama pants and carrying a backpack. One vehicle had a bowling ball thrown through the windshield.

Petit Larceny / 654 Hylan Dr (Burlington) / 24-156516
The manager for Burlington reports on 09/04/24, an unknown man wearing a camo hat, white t-shirt, and black shorts entered the store and stole clothing. The male was seen fleeing the location in a white SUV (unknown license plate).
Petit Larceny / 305 Miracle Mile Dr (Dick’s Sporting Goods) / 24-157478
Dick’s Sporting Goods reports on 09/05/24, an unknown female entered the store and stole a pair of Nike sneakers. There was no suspect vehicle information.
Petit Larceny / 400 Jay Scutti Blvd (BJ’s) / 24-157517
BJ’s reports on 09/05/24, two unknown males (black Carhart ski hat, black jacket, yellow shirt) (tan baseball hat, orange Timberland hoodie) and an unknown female (black baseball hat, black Helfire Club hoodie) entered the store and stole merchandise. The suspects were seen leaving the location in a black GMC Terrain (unknown license plate).

On 9/7/24, deputies responded to Plato’s Closet for a larceny in-progress. The suspect, later identified as Alfred Miller Jr., left the area prior to deputies’ arrival, but was soon found behind Carrabba’s on the West Rd. Once Mr. Miller was spotted, he tried to escape, but the deputies managed to catch him. Despite his resistance, Miller was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. Petit Larceny / 650 Hylan Dr. (Wegmans) / 24-158487
On 9/7/24, deputies responded to the Hylan Dr. Wegmans for the report of a larceny in progress. Upon arrival, patrols spoke to the reporting person, who is asset protection at the location. Two unknown males put $435.05 worth of meat, diapers, and water into a shopping cart, and walked out of the store, passing all points of sale. Patrols made contact with the males in the front vestibule of the store, and detained them without incident. The suspects are identified as (S1) Lawrence Bryan II and (S2) Avery Bryan.
It should be noted that Lawrence has an active bench warrant out of the Hornell Police Department. They [Hornell] declined to take him into custody at this time. *It should also be noted these same two males committed a larceny on 9/6/24 at the Calkins Rd. Wegmans while wearing the same clothes as they were on the 7th. The deputy who had that Calkins Rd. Wegmans report from the 6th made the arrest for it.
CPW 2nd / Calkins Rd/ W Henrietta Rd. / 24-159330
On 09/09/24, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2021 Ford F250. The driver, Jason Hayes (S), had a suspended driver’s license and was taken into custody for the Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. Additional deputies responded to assist with an inventory search prior to the vehicle being towed and located a Taurus G2C 9mm black handgun on the driver’s side floorboard. The handgun did not have a round in the chamber, but had 11 rounds of ammunition in the magazine. Additionally, Hayes was searched and deputies discovered a small bag of a white powdery substance inside his wallet. Hayes was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and remanded to MCJ. The unknown substance was logged into property for testing and further charges are pending.
Petit Larceny/ EWOC / 720 Jefferson Rd (Marshalls) / 24-159811
On 09/09/24, deputies responded to the above location for a delayed larceny report. Marshalls Loss Prevention reports on 09/05/24, an unknown female entered the store and stole $100 worth of clothing. The female was accompanied by two children.
Petit Larceny / Kohl’s 3150 West Henrietta Rd. / 24-160465
Deputies responded to a theft at Kohl's at 3:40 p.m. on 09/10/2024. Kohl’s Loss Prevention conveyed the suspect was gone, describing her as a female with braided hair, wearing a gray t-shirt and red pants. Kohl’s could only describe the stolen property as unknown “active wear”, were unable to give an exact item or dollar amount.

Stolen Kia / Lexington Pkwy. / 24-153136
On 8/30/24 at 8:00 a.m., the victim discovered his 2020 Kia Sportage was stolen from his driveway. He had parked it in his driveway at 8:00 p.m. on 8/29 and maintained both sets of keys. The investigation revealed someone had abandoned the vehicle on Warwick Ave. in Rochester within 90 minutes of when the victim parked it in his driveway. There was damage to the steering column.
Petit Larceny / Meadow Farm N. / 24-154800
Between 8/31/24 at 8:00 p.m. and 9/1/24 at 8:25 p.m., someone stole a bicycle from inside the above apartment building. The description of the bike includes a black Mongoose with a blue logo and three black pegs and one silver peg on the right side of the wheel.
Stolen Vehicle / Chi Mar Dr. / 24-154184
The victim was out walking his dogs when he observed a 2011 Hyundai Sonata drive past him, turn around, and drive toward his house. From where he was, he could see the vehicle stop near his house and he watched three teenagers exit the Sonata and enter his wife’s 2020 Kia Sportage. The teens then left the area in the Sportage, abandoning the Sonata. It was reported that the Sportage had been locked with no keys inside and was eventually recovered by the RPD.
Sweden
Petit Larceny / Woodlands Way / 24-150723
A resident was standing in front of his apartment building talking on the phone when he observed a man wearing a hat, a windbreaker, and shorts walking out of the apartment complex parking lot while opening a cardboard delivery box. It appeared suspicious, so he confronted the man and asked him if it was his delivery box. During this interaction, the man took off running, and the resident gave chase. The male discarded the shipping box but kept its contents as he ran out of sight. They soon discovered a neighbor was expecting the delivery of a pair of sneakers ($250 value), and those were the ones stolen.
Burglary 3rd / GL 4th / Brockport Spencerport Rd. / 24-155891
On 9/3/24 at about 4:30 p.m., Walmart Asset Protection observed two females selecting merchandise and concealing it in a plastic tote. One female stopped at the registers to pay for merchandise and the other, Larnia Hardaway, continued past all points of sale. Hardaway was stopped by Asset Protection and deputies as she exited the location and was taken into custody without incident. It was learned that Hardaway was previously banned from all Walmart stores on 11/25/23. She was arraigned in Sweden Town Court and remanded to MCJ in lieu of $400/$1,500/$4,000. The value of the stolen property is $1,052.39.
